1. Arguably, both Walter Benjamin and Susan Stewart see some positive
potential within mass culture for a creative, self-productive, even
liberatory relation to the world of commodities. What are their basic
arguments-and, how do they differ? Do you agree with either/both of
them, generally? Do their ideas still work for you, in terms of
