Three Guineas by Virginia Woolf

Virginia Woolf offers a critical, feminist view of the situation of women and the state of patriarchy in Europe in the 1930s. Explain and evaluate Woolf's view. Was she too pessimistic about recent changes in the western democracies? What similarities did she see between those democracies and the fascist countries? How did the historical context in which she wrote influence her outlook? How convincing is her argument that there is an inherent link between patriarchy and militarism?
