3.Use an image/example of each religion from your textbook(Fourth Edition Volume I. Art History) to support your argument.
4.Cite the symbols and subjects in the artwork. For example, images of the cross in Christian art symbolize the idea that Christ suffered and died for human sin. 2. Respond to a peer’s essay using the instructions below.
Technical How-to?

Early Medieval and Late Gothic
Chapters 14, 15, and 16 deal with Western European Art from the Early Medieval through the Late Gothic Periods. This long period of time is generally termed the Middle Ages, 500 – 1350 CE. It has many Early Medieval regional styles such as in Italy and Spain for instance, and then moves on to the Middle Medieval termed the Romanesque style, and culminates in France with the High Gothic as the time period of the Middle Ages ends. CLICK HERE TO ORDER THIS ESSAY!!!!
As you study these three chapters covering the Middle Ages, you will notice that there is a gradual shift in style from art that is more abstract (fig. 14-5) to art that is quite realistic (fig. 16-30). This trend eventually leads to the Renaissance with Michelangelo, Leonardo DaVinci, Raphael and all the other great masters of that period, studied in Art History II – ARTS1304.
For Discussion 4 you will choose a primary work of art that depicts that moving trend toward realism in figurative works of art (figurative = i.e. people, animals). You will then choose a secondary work of art to use in comparison to the primary work of art.
Part 1: Essay "Check Points"
Include the following in your Comparison for Discussion #4
Choose a work that you can say is either figuratively abstract or realistic during the Middle Ages. This will be your primary work of art.
What do you see in your chosen work that suggests a shift in style is either emerging or has arrived in Europe during this period of time?
Apply your thinking about why this shift took place by applying your thinking to another work of art found in your textbook from the Middle Ages. This will be your secondary work of art.
Be specific about what you SEE in the work. Relate your comments to the social, economic, political, religious, or scientific developments which might have influenced the changes in artistic conventions that you see. Also, be sure to include the title, page number and figure number of BOTH works of art in the body of your essay (as well as the subject line of your discussion posting). CLICK HERE TO ORDER THIS ESSAY!!!!
