Entrepreneurial Proposal for K-12 Education

Paper instructions:
Assignment:
The purpose of this paper is to engage each course participant in a substantive investigation of the need for an entrepreneurial enterprise (local, regional, or national) and develop an idea for such an enterprise that deepens one’s understanding of how such endeavors could possibly begin, develop, and be sustained over time by contributing to our system of education.
Starting with one’s own knowledge and observations, pursue the investigation of the need for an entrepreneurial enterprise (local, regional, or national) via the web, through colleagues, online reports and articles (journals and newspapers), and beyond. The result of the investigation should be a 10-15 page double-spaced proposal and presentation for your entrepreneurial action. The proposal should include:
A. The background of the problem/need
(This should be supported through observations and/or data. This may include a brief needs assessment such as using the What Works in Schools Survey instrument)
B. The vision/rationale for the entrepreneurial enterprise
C. The audience to be served
D. The stakeholders needed to design, develop, implement, and sustain this enterprise
E. Resources needed (materials, time training, collaborations)
F. Barriers/challenges to be addressed
G. Measurable goals for this enterprise concerning desired impact
H. An action plan and timeline
I. Connections to course materials and discussions
J. Personal reflection on the significance and potential of the enterprise.
