Poetry Analysis Essay

Write an essay of between 600- 700 words ( typed, double- spaced, in MLA Style)
1. The importance of imagery in a poem to the development of themes in " In a Station of the Metro" by Ezra Pound and " The Red Wheelbarrow," by William Carlos Williams including reference to the Imagism Movement as defined by Pound.
You may have less to say on one of the poems than the other. This is acceptable as long as you have done a thorough analysis of the each of the poems being discussed in relation to the poetic devices mentioned in the assigned topic.
The themes of the pomes do not have to be the same but be sure to focus on the assignment’s poetic devices in each.
The structure and sound of "The Lake Isle of Innisfree" by W.B. Yeats, and "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" by Robert Frost Contribute to the understanding of the themes.
1. briefly explain the speaker, setting and situation of each poem.
2. I recommend you discuss one poem per body paragraph, offering the theme for each at the beginning of the paragraph and then explicating this through reference the poetic devices named in the assignment (above).
3. You will be quoting from the poems as evidence. Remember to incorporate these quotations into your sentences.
4. You must include a Works Cited list with your paper.
