Reading Ruth, Contemporary Women Reclaim a Sacred Story

Reading Ruth, Contemporary Women Reclaim a Sacred Story
Subject: Religion and Theology
READ ONLY:
"The Book of Ruth," pp. 5 – 13.
"Verse by Verse: A Modern Commentary," pp. 14 – 27.
Section 2, "For Wherever You Go, I Will Go," pp. 85 – 105.
Section 5, "Like Rachel and Leah, Both of Whom Built Up the House of Israel, "pp. 253 – 283.
QUESTION:
After doing the above reading and getting a sense of the different interpretations these writers give The Book of Ruth, you will write your own commentary on a small section of The Book of Ruth. Choose a line or several lines that you find interesting, puzzling, or problematic. In your post do the following:
A. Quote your chosen lines and give the verse number and the line numbers.
B. Then, write a carefully thought-out question about these lines.
C. Next, write a one-paragraph (5-7 sentence) interpretation of this line(s). You will need to make an original interpretation. So, you can either give a very different reading of a line that Sohn interprets, or choose a line that she has not addressed. This is also a short assignment, but it will require some careful thought
