Academic Poster: Modern Analytical techniques

Prepare an A2 poster (or four A4 sized pages) that describes the technique Mass Spectrometry. In your poster give an example of a case study where your technique has contributed to the forensic science.
- the poster should be simple and easy to follow. It should not be cluttered or have too much in the way of unnecessary information.
- the poster should have a good mix of diagrams and pictures, placed in a sensible position and helping to illustrate the key features of the poster
- pictures and diagrams downloaded from the web need to be very relevant, well discussed and clear.
- the detail for the given technique should be technically accurate and sensibly laid out.
- the explanation of the technique should include a basic description of the instrument used, the chemical or physical property on which it is based, how it is measured and what kinds of things can be measured using it.
- the link between the technique and the case study should be clearly made, ie not simply that Mass Spectrometry (MS) was used in the case of Smith (1992), but how it was used (eg MS was used to identify the same alkaloid found in the victim as was found in the possession of the suspect).
- correct and consistent referencing should be used.
It’s a visual display and should contain a good mix of diagrams and text.
