Select a topic from the list below that relates to the intersection of art and medicine. Your 750-1000 word essay can be about a specific artist, group of artists, one project, or a more broad study of the topic. Your essay will be grades on grammer, punctuation, spelling, and clarity. You are required to use at least four solid sources. The essay must be properly formatted in APA style (see below).
- Research some aspect of art therapy
- Study one artwork that shows a surgical procedure
- Study how artists have studied anatomy to make themselves better artists (Eakins, Muybridge, dissections, academic training)
- Research the art of the mentally ill (Dubuffet’s Museum of the Insane, Outsider Art)
- Consider the art of children (child therapy, childlike art as it relates to modern art)
