You are to produce an academic essay in which you:
“Identify and discuss the main implications for organisations of Increased IT based Information Systems implementation”
• As an academic essay you may ONLY use sources and their examples which are peer reviewed, these may include text books, academic papers and journal articles
• The work is to be submitted in the format of an essay and you should refer to the Harvard method of referencing as detailed in your FMI MLS

You are required to identify the implications of Increasing IT based IS implementation in your chosen area. New and increasing IS capabilities result in a new ways of working for people not only in the traditional workplace but on the move and from other locations. Time becomes increasingly irrelevant – so what are the implications. What are the implications for management and organisational control? How does this affect structure and hierarchies? Also holding such large sets of information about work, people, clients, employees etc. also comes with its own implications… in short the main issues are security and organisational behavioural issues mainly organisational culture along with HRM although this is not necessarily what the students may come up with and merit will be given for well-argued points providing they are substantially supported with the necessary academic literature and underpinning.
