The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

Curious Incident Discussion Questions
1. Christopher’s father tells him, “It’s bloody hard telling the truth all the time. Sometimes it’s impossible” (120). How does Christopher overcome his fears of the world when his father’s lies force him to search for his mother? What fears do you have as you face your first year of UHD student life? How can you overcome your fears? Does Christopher’s story offer any suggestions?
2. “People believe in God because the world is very complicated and they think it is very unlikely that anything as complicated as a flying squirrel or the human eye or a brain could happen by chance” (164). Does anything seem to happen to Christopher by chance? Or does there seem to be some sort of plan unfolding for him? As you begin your UHD experience, do you think you’ve arrived here by chance?
