Beginning your research with the Case Study of Virgin Blue and Qantas/Jetstar on pp. 322-23 of the text book, prepare a group report that identifies the key factors in Virgin Blue’s external environment in the domestic airline market, and their impact on Virgin Blue. Then, identify, discuss and evaluate how the ideas from the functions of management (i.e. planning, organising, leading or controlling) can be used to enable Virgin Blue to compete effectively in the domestic airline market.

A good analysis (in the discussion section) will include consideration of the factors that support and constrain the management and/or organisation’s efforts to compete effectively in the domestic airline market.
Conclusion (10%): This is where you draw your conclusion about the best way managers can enable Virgin Blue to compete effectively in the domestic airline market.
Recommendations (10%): Finally, make about five short recommendations that you suggest the organisation/manager should implement.
