- Christopher Columbus’s exploration of the Americas is often referred to as the “Discovery of America.” Do you agree with that term? Why or why not?
Furthermore, the word “New World” is often used to describe the Americas. In what ways would the Americas, certainly on old world for Native Americans, truly be a NEW world for Native Americans, Europeans, and Africans after 1492?

- We have learned that all sources contain bias and reveal various perspectives. Choose one primary source from this week’s reader readings and describe the author’s points of view and biases, noting what information or interpretations s/he advances and what s/he leaves out of his or her presentation.
Remember, “bias” does not necessarily mean the author was trying to mislead readers.
