Assignment No. 2 – Development of strategies to enhance situated learning in the identified workplace (Extension of Assignment 1)

In this assignment we want you to revisit the workplace learning that you identified in Assignment 1 and prepare an ‘in-house’ discussion paper which critiques those forms in terms of:

BELOW IS THE IMPORTANCE OF THE PAPER:

- The appropriateness of the forms of knowledge that result;
- How well the workplace is used and harnessed to provide for situated learning;
- How well communities of practice are strategically used to develop the learning;
- The relationship of the situated learning to the learning and labour networks you observe in your
organisation;
- Whether the learning and labour networks of the organisation facilitate or act as barriers to situated learning.

BELOW IS CRUCIAL IN THE PAPER

Once your discussion paper has critiqued the identified forms of workplace learning, we want you to develop and present an argument on how you would see those workplace learning forms being better managed in the organisation to yield more fruitful outcomes for individual learners and for the organisation.

You are encouraged to prepare your discussion paper in a format that would be suitable for use as a submission to the management of your organisation (although we recognise that not all students will be in a position to actually submit their paper within their organisation).
