Instructional Objectives for this activity:
Use transitions to connect ideas across and within your writing
Revise a multi-paragraph paper
Revision is not a rapid process. Revision involves consideration and careful, critical thinking. Instead of applying that critical thinking process to just your sources, you must now apply it to your own writing, too.
In this assignment, you will being revising your draft of your multi-paragraph paper. Once again, take into consideration what you have learned about the writing process so far, along with the preparation you have done in the topic, thesis, outlining, and drafting stages, as you polish your paper.
Revise the initial draft of your multi-paragraph paper, paying particular attention to the use of transitions.
•Your revision should be checked against all nine triggers described in the “Key Points” graphic on page 44 of your text.
•Before submitting, highlight all the transition words you use to connect ideas within or across paragraphs.
•Your revision should include substantive changes from its original draft version.
For help identifying or using transitional words and phrases, refer to section 3c of your textbook, pages 30-32
