We have talked a lot about the media and health. Media has such a powerful influence on culture and culture is the most powerful force we face in changing health behaviors, so we need to learn as healthcare professional how better to harness this powerful force. What are your perspectives on this? BTW, culture eats strategy for lunch everyday, all day long and I will take tht bet everytime.

Why has prevention been so difficult to really become a reality in our healthcare system? I am reminded of a situation I saw and observed in eastern Europe a few years ago, in the Czech Republic to be exact. There is was culturally unacceptable to go to work ill or with a cold or flu. People stayed home and stayed in bed the way we hear we should. Why do they do that and we don't? We all know we should exercise, eat right and not smoke, etc.....why don't we do what we know we should?
