Task
Using an example product of your choice (e.g. iPhone, Milk, Luxury Car etc.) answer the following questions:
1) Outline the supply chain for your chosen product making sure to relate your answer to the traditional supply chain.
2) How is your product transported and stored through the supply chain currently? What improvements could be made?
3) How is production planned and controlled for your product? Do you feel this is the most appropriate method of forecasting demand?
4) Consider the ideas of lean manufacturing – is this appropriate for your product?

Assignment Task 1
Alvin runs a business selling expensive cars. Last Monday he mistakenly placed a notice on one car indicating that it was for sale for ?5,000 when in fact its real price was ?25,000. Bert later noticed the sign and, recognising what a bargain it was, immediately indicated to Alvin that he accepted the offer and would take the car for the indicated amount. Alvin, however, told Bert that there had been a mistake and that the true price of the car was ?25,000. Bert insisted that he was entitled to get the car at the lower price, and when Alvin would not give it to him at that price Bert said that he would sue Alvin.
After Bert had left, Alvin changed the price on the car to ?25,000 and subsequently Cat came in and said she would like to buy the car, but that she would have to arrange finance. On Tuesday Del came by and offered Alvin the full ?25,000 cash there and then and Alvin sold it to him.
1a. Advise the parties as to their legal position (35 marks) 1b. Explain how the courts will determine whether the parties have shown an
intention to create legal relations. Using decided cases, compare and contrast the approach taken in commercial situations compared with social situations. (15 marks)

Dave and Manjit work as delivery drivers for Hurryhaste Ltd. Dave has been employed for three years. Manjit has been taken on as casual labour. Dave and Manjit decide to have a race to see who can make the most deliveries. Manjit, in haste, reverses into a parked car owned by Karen, denting the door. Dave receives an urgent call to pick up his daughter from school. Dave takes the van to pick up his daughter and to make a couple of deliveries on the way home. After his last delivery, Dave negligently crashes the van into Sheila?s car, injuring her. Sheila was not wearing her seat belt.
