Econometrics

Question 1
Forthis exercise, we use data file JTRAlN.WF1 to determine the effect ofthe job training grant on hours ofjob training per employee. The basic model forthe three years is
HRSEMPit = [30 + 61D88t + 62D89t + B1GRANTit + [i2GRANTi,t-1 + eit
(i) Estimate the equation using fixed effects. How many firms are used in the FE estimation? How many total observations would be used if each firm had data
on all variables (in particular, HRSEMP) for all three years?
(ii) lnterpret the coefficient on GRANT and comment on its significance.
(iii) Is it surprising that GRANTi,t-1 is insignificant? Explain.
(iv) Do largerfirms provide their employees with more or less training, on average? How big are the differences? (For example, ifa firm has 10% more employees, what is the change in average hours oftraining?)
Question 2
Consider a family saving function forthe population of all families in the United States:
SAV= [30
[31 INC + [i2HHSlZE + [i3EDUC + [i4AGE + e
where HHSIZE is household size, EDUC is years of education ofthe household head, and AGE is age
ofthe household head. Assume that E(e/INC, HHSIZE, EDUC, AGE) = 0.
(i) Suppose that the sample includes only families whose head is over
25 years old. lfwe use OLS on such a sample, do we get unbiased estimators ofthe Bj? Explain.
(ii) Now, suppose our sample includes only
married couples without children. Can we estimate all ofthe parameters in the saving equation? Which ones can we estimate?
(iii) Suppose
we exclude from our sample families that save more than $25,000 per year. Does OLS produce consistent estimators ofthe Bj?

Percutaneous Coronary Intervention

Essay Case : Adult following Percutaneous Coronary Intervention: Balloon Angioplasty and Intracoronary Stent
Michael is a 56 year old male who has returned to the high dependency acute cardiac care unit following a Balloon Angioplasty and insertion of an Intracoronary Stent. He has a history of Type 2 Non-insulin dependent diabetes and manages this with Metformin. He is on telemetry and is to lie flat for 3 hours post procedure. The femoral artery sheath was removed in theatre, the site compressed and an opsite dressing applied to the site on his left inguinal region. He is currently on half hourly circulation observations. He has an IV of 0.9% Sodium Chloride (1L) / 24 hourly infusing. His initial return to ward observations were HR 80/min, RR 18/min, BP 120/80, Temp 36.9°C. When you perform your next set of observations 30 minutes later Michael’s observations are HR 110/min, RR 20/min, BP 100/70 and Temp 37° C. He reports that he has pain in his groin and has a pain score of 4/10. He also says “I really want to pee but I can’t while I’m lying down.†His feet and hands feel pale, clammy and cool. You lift up the sheet to inspect the catheter site and there is a large pool of fresh blood all over the sheet under Michael and a visible leakage from the site.CLICK HERE TO GET MORE ON THIS PAPER.....
Once you have selected:
There are at least three (3) priority problems that the patient is experiencing currently. List three priority problems you have identified from the above data and history. For each problem identified, list as many nursing interventions as you have discovered in your research of the literature. Include a one to two line rationale for each intervention. Submit this one page list with your essay.
Please be aware that the main focus should be the essay itself and not this one page list which is essentially a map or plan of your thinking about the case. We have asked for this page as sometimes students choose incorrect priority problems so this page will allow us to see if it was a problem with identification or prioritisation. As with any academic writing it should be referenced and you can include these references in your main essay reference list. Your main focus should be the essay.
For your essay, you must prioritise the problems you identified and select the two highest priority problems from your list.CLICK HERE TO GET MORE ON THIS PAPER.....
The 2000- word essay
• State an overview of the patient’s condition and identify the TWO priority nursing problems. Give a brief plan for the essay topics.
• For the first problem (850 words): Briefly explain how it relates to the patient’s assessment data. You will need to draw on your understanding of pathophysiology to explain the link between the problem and the patient’s signs and symptoms. Identify TWO priority nursing interventions to address the problem. Discuss briefly the nursing interventions you will implement (explain what is involved in implementing the intervention, why it is suitable, any relevant positive or negative aspects/considerations) and support/justify the use of these interventions with reference to current evidence-based literature. Outline the evaluation criteria/data that would indicate that each intervention is improving or resolving the identified problem.

• For the second problem (850 words): Briefly explain how it relates to the patient’s assessment data. You will need to draw on your understanding of pathophysiology to explain the link between the problem and the patient’s signs and symptoms Identify TWO priority nursing interventions to address the problem.
• Conclusion (150 words): Briefly restate the patient’s condition and problems and how the nursing interventions can benefit the patient’s health.
You need to discuss at least one independent nursing intervention in your essay. For any collaborative nursing interventions you use you must discuss the nursing responsibilities and actions in relation to this collaborative intervention. Medications cannot be both of your chosen collaborative interventions for a problem. If a medication is one of your collaborative interventions you must identify an appropriate drug that is likely to be/or has been prescribed by the doctor (in the case options some medications have already been prescribed). You must also consider and discuss the nursing responsibilities associated with the medication (action, dose, side effects, prevention and management of same, administration requirements, evaluation).

Industry Analysis

look closely at the industry they intend to pursue in their professional career. Students who do not have a specific career goal just yet should plan to write on one of their possible career interests. Those with goals not specific to a single field should choose any industry they are interested in for the purposes of this assignment.
This response must address the following:
Part I – The Industry
Overview: What are the major corporations within the industry?
A Specific Company/Corporation: Of those mentioned above, choose one company and expand:
General Information: Where are they located? Are there branch offices? How many people do they employ? What kinds of products and services do they provide?
Provide a brief history. When was it established? By whom? Has the company changed from its inception? How?
Who are the major “players”, i.e. who are the executives, entrepreneurs, development experts, etc.? Discuss their educational background, professional experience, and reputation.
Products or services: What are their ‘top sellers’? Are these products ‘selling’ well?
Reputation: What is the company’s reputation for customer relations? What is their reputation as an employer? How well are they doing financially?
What are the present trends in that industry? Is the field growing? Diminishing? What are the newest developments? Who are they hiring?CLICK HERE TO GET MORE ON THIS PAPER.....
Part II – You
What particular jobs are you interested in?
What approaches will you take to obtain a job in that field?
Your educational plan: What classes will you take and when will you take them? How will your core classes prepare you? How will your electives prepare you?
Preparation: What areas do you plan to work on (outside of school) to prepare yourself for finding employment? Examples: entry-level jobs related to the field? Internships? Approaches to ‘networking’ – to gain access to other in the field? Organizations to join or conferences to attend?
Notes:
This paper should clearly communicate the nuances of the chosen industry. You must communicate this information to a wide audience, one not necessarily familiar with the specific industry nor up-to-date in certain forms of technology being addressed. Your industry analysis, especially in terms of the newer developments and trends, can become extremely complex and technical. Knowing that eventually you will have to gain skill in explaining the complexities of your work to others, it’s important that you keep your audience in mind.
A major component of this paper, and the reason it’s assigned, is to get you familiar with your intended field before graduation. Part II of this paper is about you and for you. You may use words like “I” and “my,” but I encourage you to take great care to avoid those unless they’re ABSOLUTELY necessary to convey the idea. Here’s an example:
vs.
The field of programming is especially fascinating due to its…
Remember that your name is on the paper–your reader will make the connection.
One section that is often underdeveloped is the approach you plan to take to obtain work in the field and the specific classes/educational experiences you will need. This is a significant component of your analysis. Specifics are required – names and descriptions of classes (past, present, & future), full explanations as to how they will prepare you for the field, specific professional affiliations, internships, etc.

When, and how often, has multicellular life evolved on Earth?

The objective of your essay is to describe and critically evaluate the current state of your selected topic. Your paper should do the following:
(i) review the recent scientific literature on the topic; (ii) present a balanced evaluation of the evidence supporting different viewpoints; (iii) indicate problems or questions that are still unresolved.
In evaluating the literature, you may evaluate or comment on any relevant aspect, but you must justify all statements. Include a Literature Cited section (not included in the word count) at the end of your assignment.
