Assignment Background Information
After evaluating and completing support for high-definition IP cameras to enhance security for DeVry University, you have completed a design of the network switching infrastructure that fully supports both the existing data traffic and the additional HD camera traffic according to requirements. Last week, you discussed your template of configurations with the network manager.
Over the past couple of months, the university has experienced a number of issues with layer 2 loops and the loss of VLAN’s. We discovered that a student connected a switch that was purchased at a local garage sale to the network, and inadvertently bridged the network, causing a Layer 2 loop. The switch also wiped out the VLAN’s on the upstream switches.
Your manager is concerned with the network’s inability to self-heal when experiencing these types of network issues. As the network engineer, he has asked you to do a network assessment on the network’s health and how to prepare the network for any future STP and VTP issues.

Design Requirements
Your configuration template should address each of the following requirements:
1. Layer 2 spanning-tree loop avoidance
a. Spanning-tree mode (RSTP, MST or STP)
b. STP Loop avoidance features
2. VTP mode standardization
a. Server/Client
a. VTP version;
b. VTP Authentication scheme; and
c. VTP pruning
b. Transparent
c. VTP trunking protocol
a. 802.1dq(dot1q)
b. ISL
3. Deliverables
You are required to prepare a detailed network report for your manager at the next scheduled meeting.
Your report should:
1. Describe in detail all issues associated with layer 2 loops and VTP; and
2. Present best design practices to minimize layer 2 loops and VTP;
IMPORTANT: A report template is provided beginning on the next page and you must use it to submit your assignment. Before submitting your assignment, delete the first three pages of this document containing the instructions.
Your submitted assignment should begin with the Title Page and only contain your report.

Ethics and Corporate Responsibility in the Workplace and the World
PharmaCARE (We CARE about YOUR health® ) is one of the world’s most successful pharmaceutical companies, enjoying a reputation as a caring, ethical and well-run company that produced high-quality products that saved millions of lives and enhanced the quality of life for millions of others. The company offers free and discounted drugs to low-income consumers, has a foundation that sponsors healthcare educational programs and scholarships, and its CEO serves on the PhRMA board. PharmaCARE recently launched a new initiative, We CARE about YOUR world® , pledging its commitment to the environment through recycling, packaging changes and other green initiatives, despite the fact that the company’s lobbying efforts and PAC have successfully defeated environmental laws and regulations, including extension of the Superfund tax, which was created by Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA).

Based in New Jersey, PharmaCARE maintains a large manufacturing facility in the African nation of
Colberia, where the company has found several “healers” eager to freely share information about
indigenous cures and an abundance of Colberians willing to work for $1.00 a day, harvesting plants by walking five (5) miles into and out of the jungle carrying baskets that, when full, weigh up to fifty (50) pounds. Due to the low standard of living in Colberia, much of the population lives in primitive huts with no electricity or running water. PharmaCARE’s executives, however, live in a luxury compound, complete with a swimming pool, tennis courts, and a golf course.
PharmaCARE’s extensive activities in Colberia have destroyed habitat and endangered native species.

Two (2) years ago, after PharmaCARE’s research indicated that one of its top-selling diabetes drugs
might slow the progression of Alzheimer’s disease, its pharmacists began reformulating that drug to
maximize the effect. In to avoid FDA scrutiny, PharmaCARE established a wholly-owned
subsidiary, CompCARE, to operate as a compounding pharmacy to sell the new formulation to individuals on a prescription basis. CompCARE set up shop in a suburban office park near its parent’s headquarters, and to conserve money and time, did a quick, low-cost renovation and designated Allen Jones to run the operation’s “clean room.”

CompCARE benefited from PharmaCARE’s reputation, databases, networks, and sales and marketing expertise, and within six (6) months had the medical community buzzing about AD23. Demand soared, particularly among Medicare, Medicaid, and VA patients. Seeing the opportunity to realize even more profit, CompCARE began advertising its services and the availability of AD23 to consumers and marketing the drug directly to hospitals, clinics, and physician offices, even though compounding pharmacies are not supposed to sell drugs in bulk for general use. To get around this technicality, CompCARE encouraged doctors to fax in lists of bogus patient names.
As production increased and hours were extended, one of Allen’s techs pointed out what appeared to be mold around the air vents. Allen immediately contacted the facilities’ supervisor, who came over to
inspect the lab. As time went on, workers began coughing, sneezing, and getting headaches at work, and one employee, Donna, who had a perfect attendance record, got so sick she could no longer come to work due to chronic bronchial problems. Eventually, she filed for worker’s compensation. Allen’s best supervisor, Tom, threatened to complain to OSHA about the air quality in the lab, and one of the techs, Ayesha, filed an EEOC complaint alleging she had not been promoted to supervisor because she was a Muslim; in fact, although Ayesha was a very good worker, Allen did not believe she had the management or people skills necessary to be a good supervisor. Allen discussed these issues with his boss, the Director of Operations, who told Allen that if he wants to keep his job and receive his promised bonus, he needs to fire Donna, Tom, and Ayesha, and keep his own mouth shut about the mold and the bogus prescriptions.

As CompCARE and its parent company enjoyed record profits and PharmaCARE’s stock price
approached $300 per share, reports started filtering in that people who received AD23 seemed to be suffering heart attacks at an alarming rate. The company ignored this data and continued filling large
orders and paid huge bonuses to all the executives and managers, including Allen, who, after being
named “Employee of the Year,” was beginning to miss production schedules due not only to his staff’s increasing use of sick leave, but also his own health issues.
PharmaCARE sold CompCARE to WellCo, a large drugstore chain, just weeks before AD23 was publicly linked to over 200 cardiac deaths. Both PharmaCARE and WellCo saw their stock price plummet.

Augmented Solow model
Augmented Solow model
For an analysis of growth within or across countries the Augmented Solow model developed by Mankiw et al (1992), is capable of incorporating factors such as trade, FDI, inequality, and a measure of institutional quality in addition to the core variables of capital and labour, etc.

A: Select one additional non-core variable and a country (or countries) of your choice and set up your empirical model for investigating potential impact that the variable may have on growth for the country/countries you have selected. Provide a theoretical and empirical justification for the inclusion of the selected variable. 5%
B: Using the World Bank World Development Indicators (WDI) download relevant time series data for your model; make use of other internationally reputable sources to complement your dataset if data are not available in the WDI. Conduct a preliminary analysis of your data using relevant descriptive statistics techniques. 5%
C: Run relevant regressions using Microfit (available in P2.12 Pemberton). Present the output of your regression, comment on the regression results generated and discuss their theoretical and empirical validity. 20%

D: Discuss the main problems that you may face conducting regression analysis (other than non-stationarity), and by reference to your regression results, discuss whether they suffer from any of these problems. Make use of relevant diagnostic tests whenever appropriate. 20%
E: Identify whether the variables in your model suffer from non-stationarity. Discuss the possible implication of non-stationarity for your model and how this problem could be addressed. 20%
F: Check whether there is long run relationship between dependent and independent variables in your model. 10%
G: In the light of your findings under D and E above, make any necessary changes to your model to correct for any of the problems that you have identified. Compare and contrast results generated here with those under C. To what extent are you confident about the reliability of your result? What are the policy implications from this analysis? 20%

Description:
TASK A (2500 Word count)- Partexceltron Case study -
You are a change consultant and Martin Stevens has contacted you to ask for your help in identifying what he needs to do in order to secure a better integrated workforce that is working to shared aims and values based upon a unifying culture. Martin has specifically asked you to consider the soft systems approach to change requiring a greater emphasis on behaviour and leadership.
Based on the information that you have, provide Martin with a report that makes recommendations for improvement, which is underpinned throughout with reference to appropriate models and theories in support of your recommendations.
You should prepare your report, addressed to Martin Stevens, and use up to 15 appendices to demonstrate the techniques that can be applied to help analyse the situation and support any recommendations that you wish to propose.
Task B (500 Word count)- Article Review -
A 500 word review of a refereed article on change
The following are the articles from which you must choose 1 on which to base your review.
From this recent edition of the Journal of Organizational Change Management that is in the e-library is Volume 25 issue 3.(ISSN 0953-4814)
You can choose any one of the articles to review. You should state your choice clearly and reference it properly.
I have attached a PDF file that contains the Partexceltron Case study and instructions on how to go about both parts of the assignment and the necessary assessment criteria to be met in order to achieve a good grade.
