Write a 10 page case study on the 2008 Imperial Sugar refinery explosion. Apply Occupational Safety and Health principles/concepts to what occurred at the factory. Address the possible causes of this workplace disaster, identify the hazards that contributed to it, could it have be prevented, any safety violations that existed beforehand, worker complaints, and what actions were taken by the employer and/or OSHA to ensure that a tragedy does happen again. How can we ensure a safe workplace to prevent such disasters from happening. Have the hazards been eliminated or at the very least are barriers or safety equipment in place to separate the worker from the hazard?
