Letter of intent

You are a member of a non-profit organization that seeks for a grant. Your task is to write a letter of intent to generate interest from a grant provider. Note that you should not use the names of the real organizations and foundations.
To write a letter of intent, you should:
1. Open the letter with a formal salutation.
2. Explain the reason of the letter in the first sentence as well as a formal statement indicating the name of your organization and the grant category for which you are applying.
3. Provide information about what your organization does. Indicate core activities and projects of your organization.
4. In two or three lines, explain why this grant would be beneficial to your organization's efforts.
5. Leave your contacts.
