Geography

Answer the following question:
Question 1:

Medical Geography is a subfield of the Geography dicipline. Medical geographers study the origin and spread of disease throughout a landscape. The AIDS pandemic is an example of a disease that geographers track in order to better understand the disease and how it is spread. Geographers are also interested in mapping the effect of different countries’ programs to see what approach may be best in controlling the disease.
Please select one African country from each of the following four sub-regions:
East Africa
West Africa
Central Africa
Southern Africa
Using an AIDS map, establish an approximation of the growth or decline of HIV/AIDS in each of the countries.
Next, use the Internet resources to collect the specific HIV/AIDS statistics for your research. Find maps that portray the scope of the epidemic? Are they accurate? Why or why not?
Maps show a “spatial-geographic logic unfolding over time.” (Gould) How could maps be improved to better visualize the real extent of the problem? Explain in detail.
