Literary analysis on any biblical passage

English and Literature
Paper instructions:
1) Literary Analysis: analyzing a biblical passage or analyzing a literary work that is heavily influenced by a biblical element through literary analysis techniques. This could also include a comparative analysis between a literary work and its biblical influence to explore the literary work’s author interpretation of the biblical passage and whether and how the author preserves, changes, subverts, or questions the biblical passage’s perceived “original” message or moral. Another possibility could be to do a comparative study of two or more biblical passages from different parts of the bible based on genre conventions for those passages (parable conventions, for instance) to see if and how those conventions are uniform or have marked changes.
2) 3-4 pages, double spaced, using a 12 pt. font (Times New Roman or other comparable serif-style font preferred; please do not use Calibri or Arial). A Works Cited section must follow after the last page of your document (it should not be a separate document). Works Cited page(s) are not part of the 3-4 page count of the paper itself. Use MLA 7th edition (2009) conventions for in-text citation and Works Cited (however, Works Cited may be single spaced). A minimum of three (3) reference sources is required. Note: make sure Works Cited includes bibliographic information for the literary works you feature in your paper, including the different Bible versions you may refer to in your paper. Biblical and other literary works are not references; they are all considered illustrative literary/creative works.
