Project Paper Assignment:



Write a paper (page limit 6 pages, not counting the title page or reference page) detailing your approach to leading an informatics implementation project, supplying the reasoning for your choices. There are no “right” or “wrong” answers, but your choices must be of sound reasoning and supported, when possible, providing professional literature or best practices. You will be allowed select the setting, your team, your goals, your outcome measure(s), and potential funding opportunities.
Describe your project by including the information in the following outline.

Outline .Your paper should discuss following topics:
I. Overview of the project – explanation of your chosen healthcare setting and an explanation of the project, major pros and cons, and why implementation will improve healthcare delivery
II. Membership of your team – by title, by experience, and by duty. Be sure to justify why you would want these individuals on your team
III. Selection of 2 to 3 goals that completing of the project will accomplish and how you would measure these outcome goals.
IV. Identify potential sources of funding for this project, and what you would need to obtain this funding.
Setting:

Technology:
Select one healthcare technology to support healthcare information management in your facility. Examples include: (1) implementation of an electronic health record, (2) implementation of computerized provider order entry system (CPOE), (3) implementation of bar-code medication administration system (BCMAS), (4) implementation of a clinical decision support system (CDSS), or (5) a telehealth project.
Team:
Identify members of your implementation team by title and discuss why you choose them to work on this project.
Outcome Goals:
Select 2 or 3 outcome goals to identify success for your project. Why did you choose these goals or were they selected for you by superiors, how would you measure these goals?
Sources of funding:
Identify 2 or 3 potential sources of funding for this project, other than just direct funds from the organization. Think of grants, partnerships, business opportunities for sharing of information, or other opportunities.
